2017 is not over yet, but the best bicycle road racing championships among men and women have been already held around the world. As usual, bicycle racings were divided into groups and regions: men’s, women’s under-23, and junior events. This year the winners represent very different countries and regions as well as the background they have as professionals.

So, today, we’re going to highlight the best bicycle road racing events in 2017 with their gold, silver, and bronze winners. 2017 Bicycle Road Racing Events All Around the World

Almost all huge events this year were organized in September. Probably this is the ideal time for the sportsmen to compete and to open the season. This year the events were held in Bergen, Norway, which is famous for its magnificent landscapes and views. So, the sportsmen were competing and enjoying the surroundings at the same time. The best performers did their best to get the medals. But only several of them could reach the line of gold, silver, and bronze prizes. So, who are those winners and what countries do they represent?

  • The first several events were held among junior and under-23 categories. In under-23 racing, the victory was got by Denmark (time trial) and France (road race). In the junior category racing the winners were interesting as in women section gold (time trial and road race), silver (time trial), and bronze (road race) were won by Italy. In men section, gold medals were taken by Denmark (Julius Johansen) and UK (Tom Pidcock). Though, a silver medal was taken by Italy again.
  • The second big event was elite women racing in September, 23. The racing was quite tough and difficult, which led to the following results. Gold went to Netherlands and Chantal Blaak, silver – to Australia and Katrin Garfoot, and bronze – to Denmark and Amalie Dideriksen.
  • So, the third major event was in September, 24. It was the elite road race, which has brought 3 medals to 3 different countries. The gold medal went to Slovakia and a professional racer – Peter Sagan. The silver and bronze prizes went to Norway and Australia, respectively. The sportsmen from these countries– Kristoff and Matthews – are not new to racing too. Several years ago, they also got major wins.

To make a long story short, accordingly to bicycle road racing events held in Bergen, Norway in 2017 several first positions on the medal table belong to Netherlands, Italy, Denmark, Germany, and Great Britain.
